A Mapstore alternative for Shopify

Mapstore and Nearmio start from the same place: free for up to 5 locations, and no map API key to set up. So this page is about the differences. Mapstore does several things Nearmio does not, and if you need them, stay with Mapstore.

At a glance

• Free plan. Both are free for up to 5 locations. Mapstore says every plan includes every feature and plans differ only in how many locations you can add.
• Price past 5. Mapstore: $14.99/month up to 100 locations, $29.99 up to 300, $49.99 unlimited. Nearmio: $9.99/month flat for unlimited locations. More in the price table below.
• Map key. Both say the map, search and geocoding work without a key. Mapstore asks for your own Google API key only if you want to show Google ratings and opening hours. Nearmio shows the hours and phone number you enter for each location, and has no Google ratings or Google-synced hours.
• Platform. Nearmio is built only for Shopify, as a theme app block.
• Mapstore has, Nearmio doesn't (yet). Google Sheets sync, a product availability block, search analytics, a developer API, custom CSS and icons.
• Nearmio has. A flagged-pin fix flow and a crawlable schema.org store list on your own domain.

Google Sheets sync

Mapstore can connect a Google Sheet and sync it up to 5 times a day at times you choose, plus a manual sync. Nearmio has no Sheets sync: you import a CSV. If your list lives in a Sheet that someone edits every week, Mapstore keeps the map current without a step from you. With Nearmio you export the Sheet and re-upload it. Product availability by store

Mapstore's guide describes a product availability block you add to your product template, so shoppers see which stores carry that product. Nearmio has no block for product pages. It filters the map by store type and product line, on the one "Store locator" block you add to a page.

Pins and fixing them

Both let you preview a CSV before it changes anything: Mapstore calls it Test CSV, Nearmio shows a row-by-row preview. Nearmio goes on to flag any address it could not place well. A location marked Needs fixing is left off the storefront map, and one marked Check pin stays on it at its approximate spot. You either drag the pin and confirm it, or correct the address and save. We did not find a pin-fixing flow described on Mapstore's site or listing, which does not mean there is none.

Search engines and crawlers

Nearmio publishes a crawlable schema.org store list on your own domain, for search engines and AI assistants. Mapstore's home page, App Store listing and guide do not mention structured data. We have not tested Mapstore's storefront, so we make no claim either way.

Past 5 locations, Nearmio's flat $9.99 is below the listed price of each Mapstore tier. Mapstore's tiers include Google Sheets sync, search analytics and a developer API, which Nearmio does not have, so compare on features as well as price. If you cancel Nearmio's paid plan, your oldest 5 placed locations stay on the map and nothing is deleted.

Choose Mapstore if

Your list lives in a Google Sheet and you want it synced, you want a product availability block on product pages, you want search analytics, or you want a developer API.

Choose Nearmio if

You want one flat price past 5 locations, a fix flow for pins that landed in the wrong place, and a crawlable store list on your own domain, and you are happy to maintain the list as a CSV. Nearmio shows one language only and has a fixed layout: you can change the heading, map height and pin colour.
